After completion of the irrigation system (350 feet of soaker hose later), the beds are now equipped to be cultivated. The drip line irrigation system currently runs through each bed using city water from a tap on Johnson House. Rain barrels coming soon.
Let it be known that on Wednesday, May 26th, the first seeds were sown at the Johnson House Garden. The first two beds now have lettuce, arugula, and radishes. It’s a bit late in the season to direct sow lettuce and arugula but with a little shade and a healthy amount of water, you can hope to see these greens in your salad soon.
